The Hills Shire Council will be welcoming back residents and customers to some of its facilities from today (Monday, October 11).
“This is fantastic news and has been made possible thanks to our residents who made vaccination a priority. The Hills Shire has one of the highest vaccination rates in NSW, with almost 85 per cent of the region [15 years and older] fully vaccinated,” Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne said.  “I am so proud of our community and the role we have all played in trying to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and ensuring that we can open up as soon as possible.
“We’ve been working hard to maintain our services and facilities like our parks and playgrounds, and now we ready to welcome you back in our venues, like our libraries.
“Please continue to stay safe, wear a mask, check in with a QR code and let’s welcome back our business community who I’m sure are very excited to open their doors to customers,” Mayor Byrne added.  As a condition of entry into Council facilities, and inline with the latest NSW Public Heath Order, people aged 16 and over are required to produce valid proof of their vaccination on entry and check in with a QR code.
The wearing of masks will also continue inside Council venues for those aged over 12.
