On Saturday, March 8, SWR 99.9 FM welcomed the public into our studios during the 2025 Blacktown City Show, offering a unique behind-the-scenes look at community radio in action.
This special Open Day was an exciting opportunity for our listeners and the wider Blacktown community to explore our state-of-the-art studios, meet our passionate team, and experience live broadcasting firsthand. It was also a fantastic way to connect with show attendees, stallholders, and fellow volunteer organisations.
Throughout the day, our Saturday broadcasters were live on air from 8 AM to 10 PM, delivering their programs, conducting interviews with the public, and speaking with council representatives and key figures from other local non-profits.
At SWR, we’re committed to hosting more Open Days throughout the year to give listeners, potential sponsors, and future members a chance to see how we operate, understand our mission and values, and discover what makes our station such a vibrant part of the community.
