SWR 99.9 FM was proud to play a central role in the success of this year’s Streets Alive and Parade Day, contributing to one of the most vibrant and well-attended community events Blacktown has seen.
From start to finish, SWR was right at the heart of the action.
Our team expertly MC’d all stages across the event, ensuring smooth transitions, engaging entertainment, and a professional presence throughout the day. In addition, three of our four talented MCs had the honour of calling the Parade itself—bringing energy, excitement, and local insight to every float and performance.
The day would not have been possible without the incredible effort of our volunteers. We saw a huge turnout of dedicated SWR members supporting every element of the event, including:
- Event setup and pack down
- Stall operation and community engagement
- Technical support and broadcast assistance
- On-air talent and live crosses
- Stage performers and coordination
- Raffle ticket sales
- Event and team management
This level of involvement truly highlighted the strength and commitment of the SWR community.
Streets Alive and Parade Day drew in massive crowds, creating an electric atmosphere filled with energy, connection, and celebration. It was fantastic to see the community come together in such large numbers to support local talent, organisations, and businesses.
The event was also attended by a range of local and state political representatives, reinforcing the importance of this community celebration and the role it plays in showcasing Blacktown at its best.
One of the standout features of the day was the incredible variety of parade floats. Local businesses and community organisations went all out, creating colourful, creative, and engaging displays that reflected the diversity and spirit of the region.
Throughout the day, the streets came alive with colour, dancing, live music, singing, and performances from local bands—creating a festival atmosphere that resonated with attendees of all ages.
