SWR 99.9 FM Hits a High Note at Blacktown’s Streets Alive & Parade Day 2025
What an unforgettable day at the 2025 Blacktown City Council’s Streets Alive & Parade Day—and what a phenomenal team effort!
Spearheaded by our passionate Community Engagement Team, this year’s event was a shining example of what great leadership and collaboration can achieve. With 17 dedicated volunteers coordinated across various roles, the day unfolded seamlessly. From early morning set-up to the late afternoon pack-down, every moving part was handled with professionalism and care.
Our very own SWR broadcasters Jesil Cajes, John Fyfe, Luke Agius and Sheila Cabacungan stepped up as MCs across multiple stages, keeping the energy high and the crowds entertained all day long. The live music line-up—featuring incredible performances from BYSA, Koa Evangelista, Kat Mat Duo, Appeltinis, Sarah Janes & The Noise, Marcus Rivera, The Everyday People Band & Jocean – created an electric atmosphere that kept the Blacktown Community entertained.
Behind the scenes, our exceptional tech crew were the unsung heroes. Not only did they ensure each performance ran smoothly, but they also managed live radio broadcasts, captured interviews on the fly, and delivered rolling updates straight from the event. Their efforts helped bring the magic of the day to listeners near and far.

A huge congratulations to our 10 lucky raffle winners, who took home some amazing prizes! And to every community member who bought a ticket, turned up, and supported the cause—thank you. Your generosity helped make this one of SWR 99.9 FM’s most successful fundraising efforts yet.
We also want to highlight the months of hard work that went into planning this event. Our Community Engagement Team worked tirelessly behind the scenes to organise logistics, secure performers and donations, coordinate volunteers, and keep everything on track. Their leadership was the backbone of this event’s success.
Big kudos to Luke from The Musos Show for curating an incredible music line-up, and to all our volunteers who managed merchandise, assisted the crew, and ensured things ran without a hitch.
This event was more than just a day of music and fun—it was a celebration of leadership, teamwork, and the power of community. And with this year’s success still ringing in our ears, we’re already counting down to 2026!
